Highway Calacalí – La Independencia, take the detour to Pacto and continue 14 km. until the entrance sign, the reserve is 2 km. further on.
Privileged place for bird watching, it is a special area of Andean transition with high biodiversity. Private ecological reserve with 130 hectares of extension, managed in a familiar way for more than 20 years.
It is an ideal place in Ecuador to see the biggest number of endemic birds of the Chocó. It is located between 1700 and 750 m high; a transition zone in the foothills. The owners have preserved the humid forest with the reforestation of heliconias and ferns. The site has bird feeders to facilitate the sighting.
In this reserve you can find 22 endemic species of the Chocó, a record for Ecuador. In this place you can see mainly the Indigo Pincaflor, Tanager Dorsimusgosa, Shining Green Tanager, Cachetirosa Parrot, among the 165 species that live in the area.
