This museum, housed inside a fully-restored 17th-century mansion in the Historic Center, with thick adobe walls, offers a comprehensive display featuring the work of Ecuadorian artist Camilo Egas.
The permanent exhibition allows to know the different stages in which Camilo Egas (1898-1962) worked, one of the most versatile artists of the time in Ecuador. They emphasize, among their styles, the indigenismo, the expressionism, the surrealism, the cubism and the total abstraction of the figure. The collection, organized by the Central Bank of Ecuador, is complemented by a program-workshop that in a fun and stimulating way brings the visitor to the artist and the art itself. The museum is located inside a beautiful seventeenth century mansion, recently restored with patio within walking distance of the Basilica.
